Postmaster William Jones with the flag Remember Rv BOB PLYLER IREDELL CITIZEN It was a brief, quiet ceremony. Citizens of the present era joined with vet erans of another day in a ceremony honoring former prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. The Saturday morning ceremony was held at the main post office on Oakland Ave. Former soldiers, representing veterans groups, and city and county officials were on hand when the POW-MIA flag was officially hoisted. The flag is-p response to legislation signed November l^th by President Clinton lequii ing the Postal service and other selected agencies of the government to fly the flag on designated days throughout the year.
